Seven clearances, two tackles won

Khusanov logged seven clearances, three tackles (two won) and one interception during Uzbekistan's 3-1 loss Saturday to DR Congo.

Analysis: Before the World Cup's group-stage finale, Khusanov logged six clearances, indicating that he more than doubled them to 13 on Friday. The center-back's tackles won tripled, changing from one to three. Unfortunately for Khusanov, playing for an unproven Uzbekistan, unsurprisingly resulted in a clean sweep of losses from the team. Without increased stock, he will shift his focus to club level, where Manchester City sporadically started him.

Three clearances in heavy loss

Khusanov recorded three clearances and four interceptions in Tuesday's 5-0 defeat to Portugal.

Analysis: Khusanov didn't lead the team in any defensive category, and he was also partly to blame for the sequence that led to the own goal late in the second half. Khusanov should be the leader of the defensive line again when facing DR Congo on Saturday in the group-stage finale.
