Blown away by Belgium
Crocombe registered five saves and allowed five goals in Friday's 5-1 loss against Belgium.
Analysis: Crocombe had a rough day at the office as his defense fell apart in the second half, conceding several clear-cut chances, and Belgium feasted on those. He was very suspect on the opening goal, where he misjudged the trajectory of a corner kick, and had his only noteworthy save late in the game, when it was already sealed. He closes the World Cup having allowed 10 goals and made 11 saves in three fixtures, with no clean sheets.
Concedes three versus Egypt
Crocombe recorded four saves and allowed three goals in Sunday's 3-1 loss against Egypt.
Analysis: Crocombe made his second straight start at the World Cup, this time falling to Mohamed Salah and the Egyptians. After a clean first half where his side took the 1-0 lead, Crocombe conceded three second half goals scored by Mostafa Zico, Salah and Trezeguet, two of which came on headers. Crocombe has now conceded five goals and made six saves through two starts at this World Cup. Next up is the final group stage match versus Belgium on Friday, a must-win match for both sides in order to advance to the knockouts. While it's the toughest opponent on paper for Crocombe, Belgium has scored just once through two matches and it was an own goal.
