Subpar showing in win
Mbaye registered three crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Friday's 5-0 victory versus Iraq.
Analysis: The fact that Mbaye didn't have a single shot in a game where Senegal scored five times shows how little influence he had, although, to be fair, most of those goals came after he had already been subbed off. The PSG youngster isn't expected to start knockout-stage matches for Senegal with Ismaila Sarr, Sadio Mane and Iliman Ndiaye as options ahead of him.
Scores in Senegal World Cup opener
Mbaye scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Tuesday's 3-1 loss versus France.
Analysis: Mbaye came from the bench with 15 minutes to go and showed incredible skill to glide past the French defence and score the goal in injury time, which brought the score back to 2-1. Kylian Mbappe would go to score a goal straight away to help the game finish 3-1. The goal came from his only shot of the game, and he also put in two dangerous crosses, which put pressure on Mike Maignan in goal. One cross was nearly turned into a goal by a French defender.
